NOTE: The Fairbanks offices dispatch labor to the northern half of the state. So, if your union has an office in Fairbanks, then that's the office you'll need to contact. No Fairbanks local? Then contact the Anchorage office.

Most union laborers come through the Fairbanks office. If you're local, it can pay to hang out in the office on the chance that a call will come through for laborers. Some of the crew told me they were not at the top of the hire list but because they were in the FAI office when the call came through for laborers, they were dispatched ahead of the others because they were on site.
Anchorage laborers who get hired must physically stop in the FAI office before being dispatched to the slope.
